The Treehouse

Created while at Electric Coffin

Treehouse is the exploration of man-made material and natural form becoming one. The design-build process of this 60’+ immersive installation was for the entrance of Vancouver Canada’s Convention Center. The passage served as a tranquil space to explore and contemplate as the undulating installation shapeshifts from the form of a house into an old-growth tree. Created for IDS West in collaboration with Electric Coffin and LightArt.

During the process, we worked with a structural engineer to build the installation as a freestanding piece entirely made of cardboard. Even the process of bolting the layers together was done without bolts:) Watch the documentary short about the creative process below.

Inside The TreeHouse

Watch the documentary behind the creation of this 60’ transformative walkway made entirely from laser-cut cardboard that was flat-packed and assembled on-site in the Interior Design Show’s conference entryway.

IDS asked designers to create custom tote bags for the weekend. This was my groovy design they selected. Totes!
