The Handshake

Amazon boxes are the handshake to the end-user. Thousands of boxes are dropped throughout the world on a daily basis. But how did they get there? This piece is meant to shine a light on the logistics systems behind it all. When asked what is commonly seen on the floor of one of their fulfillment centers their response was, “stacks and stacks of boxes”. Using branded cedar wood we elevated the everyday cardboard box and Amazon’s simple but effective logistical stacking methods through a large-scale art installation.

On Target

Electric Coffin created this piece for Amazon’s facilities and logistics teams. The map shape represents their worldwide reach and celebrates all the people that make their day-to-day services happen. The composition was made from authentic dartboards, water-jet cut, and finished with steel edge banding. Strategically placed red darts signified Amazon’s fulfillment centers around the globe. An animated feature along the wall showcased those locations in-depth..
